UK GP practice codes explained

The NHS Organisation Data Service (ODS) gives each GP practice a code, usually a letter followed by five digits, such as A81001. The code identifies the practice in NHS systems and stays the same when a practice changes name.

Our UK listings come from the ODS file of active GP practices, published under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Listing IDs on this site use the format GB-code.

To register with a practice in England, use the NHS website or NHS App, or contact the practice directly.
